Christmas / New Year

Hello - we are arriving on 24th December, never been been and have never been away for christmas before.

Are there any Christmas Eve / New Years Eve celebrations going on?

Can we get in anywhere for Christmas Day? - what does everyone else do? Will all the shops be shut etc?

Also same for New Year? Wheres good to go etc? New Years Day dinners?

Looking at Calangute / Baga or Candolim - all hints, tips, help really appreciated ....

Christmas isn't celebrated as much as New Year, but there will still be Fireworks on the beach and some Shacks open. Some of the restaurants will have a Christmas Dinner....

NYE is the best, everyone heads to the beach for fireworks and partys galore.....Its Brill !!!!!

Well Christmas in Goa is the same as any other day every where is open and you won't have a problem getting in anywhere. The beach is a must see for 1st timers as all the Indian watches are at different times so it's funny to see all the firework displays go off starting about 10 mins early. Hope you enjoy Goa. From a seasoned traveller to Goa your first thoughts of the poverty etc may be a bit daunting but hey don't be fooled

Have fun may see you there
