Train or bus from Malacca to Singapore

Hi my friend and I have different opinions.

1) She wants to return to SIngapore by train. So taxi to Tampin train station - 45 mins journey. How long is the train journey to singapore.

I find it troublesome and taxi fare could be costly.

2) I prefer return by bus from Malacca.

We may end up going different ways.

What is your advice please?

Hi,

I don't recommend bus at all as there are too many stops especially the night trains and subject to frequent delays.

coaches are much better and more comfy

Definitely go with the bus option. I've never experienced bus travel quite like in Malaysia. On some buses (think it was a VIP one) the seats recline almost into a bed and we were given meal vouchers, blanket and drinks!! From memory, the bus journey from Melaka to Singapore was about 4 hours.

Not sure where you are with this one, first time logging on since returning from our last trip (work and our other life getting in the way) which AlexMcca was most helpful with - Thank you AlexMcca

We travelled the reverse direction Singapore-Malacca and used the Luxury bus line http://www.luxury.com.sg and found them comfortable and efficient

Taking train will be much longer than taking bus.. because taking train there are many stops along the way..

I would definetely take bus if possible, its only 4hours bus ride..

colinola, where are you coming from Singapore? if you take the coaches normally, well did, take you to a Central market but the one we went on dropped us off by the old fort, now leaving would probably be different but if you could outline your thoughts 'where too from etc and after Malaka' others with more knowlege could assist

1. Taxi cost you RM 45(min) from Malacca to Tampin

2. Train take about 6-7 hours (because too many stations to stop). There is a express Train(take about 4 hours) in the midnight but I'm not sure what the schedule time.

I suggest you take Bus from Melaka Sentral ( take about 3 hours to reach JB).
