- South Beach restaurant still closed. A la carte menus available at North Beach. Lunch 12-3pm; Dinner 6.30-9.00pm. Reservations are essential and must be done via Guest Relations on arrival as space is limited. There are NO set menus catered for now.

- Pool decking : Being undertaken in 3 phases. Family pool 1st; Infinity/Horizon pool 2nd and North Beach decking areas 3rd. During each phase the specific areas will be closed to resort guests.

Disappointing that things are delayed a little for them, however very good to see they are doing the extra work on the decking. Unfortunately that has been a bit of a point in some reviews recently.

Might not be able to resist a day trip there in March (we are staying at Wananavu & First Landing). Miss the wonderful Mana staff and the beaches.

Thanks for the update flicarose.

Hi,

Are you able to confirm when the decking is being worked on? We are travelling on 7th March for 5 nights and would be really disappointed if the infinity pool was closed.

Do you have a date to when the water sports will be back up and running?

You mention the South Beach restaurant is closed and a la carte options are available at North Beach - is this the buffet restaurant or separate?

We are really concerned about our trip to Mana Island now as the reviews have been so negative :(

Many thanks.

Have been advised by management that the decking will be worked on as soon as the material arrives. The plan is to do the family pool first followed by the infinity pool and then the Mamanucas decking. It is hoped to finalise all this by early March. The a-la-carte menu is served on the decking next to the pool and the parasailing and jet skiing should be up and running next week.

Thank you "manaregular"

Do you believe that this maintenance work & changes etc will have a negative effect on our break to Mana? We haven't travelled there before but the island was highly recommended. We booked a few months ago when there were numerous positive reviews here on Trip advisor then all of a sudden they were very negative.

No you will have a great time on Mana. Dont forget that in Fiji time frames do not always go according to plan. They say that this will occur and usually they don't occur on time. Don't worry,go and enjoy.

Agree with 'Manaregular' - you and your family will have a wonderful holiday on Mana . It is expected that only 'one' pool would be out of action at any one time, during the upgrades. Additionally, swimming at the North Beach, South Beach, or Sunset Beach in the ocean is not to be missed either - you can snorkel at the same time. Three choices of menus - Buffet, A la Carte or the VoliVoli cafe (which is open 2-8pm). As per my previous posting only the jet skis and parasailing equipments are 'being rectified' presently. All other watersports are up & running.

It is 'hoped' that 8 rooms (Ocean front suites) will be operational by beginning of April, rest to follow shortly thereafter. You will have to get your Travel Agent to contact Mana Sales/Marketing or Reservations direct. I think you will be okay - otherwise they wouldn't/shouldn't have taken the bookings!
