Any tips for a family heading to Castaway

Thank you everybody for all the great things we have already been able to read in the forums in regards to Castaway Island. We are heading there in March, 2 Adults, 2 Children (7&3), just wondering if anyone has any pearls of wisdom before we head off. Thanks to you guys I already know we will not need to pack beach towels, must pack bug spray - but is there anything else we should know. Does anyone know if it is worth taking bottled water from Nadi to the Islands? Can you buy soft drink in cans or bottles there? Any other shopping advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi ho you guys,

Well how exciting for you all...Castaway is such a fantastic place to stay.

Ok well one thing i would advise you to take is alot of sunscreen as it is very expencive over there and you will go through it at a rate of knots.Make sure you go to the Sun Set Bar..it is sooo much fun and it is just beautiful to sit on the balcony and watch the sun go down while you have a drink and nibbles.Vilisi that works their is such a beautiful woman and she calls you at 5pm for Happy Hour.Make sure you go there and see Epi, he is the man that makes the most wounderful pizza's.

Make sure you go Parrasailing as it is a blast. My husband had 2 hours on the speed boat and loved it sooo much, it was $100 per hour but well worth it as it is the fastest one in Fiji.Go to Honeymoon island [ only 10mins from Castaway, they take you ] it is the best snorkeling ever.

Water...we didnt worry about taking it and we didnt have a problem. You can buy it at the airport before you go which people were doing but we didnt. They had water in our bure and it was all good...we quenched our thirst with cocktails and crownies, hahaha.

You will have the best time ever and you children will love it there too, they love children so you will be able to sit and relax without a care in the world.Enjoy your holiday. Oh yeah..we also did the Champane and Lobster jet boat cruise and it was great, it was $179.00 per couple and they take you to all sorts of resorts, show you where Castaway was filmed and then they take you to Honeymoon island for your lunch and let you just relax, snorkel and swim...it was fantastic fun.

Cheers...Warwick...15 sleeps to go, but who's counting

Hi there, wow you are so lucky going to Castaway! We went on our honeymoon 12 years ago and would love to go back and take our children some day. If you want to know any family holiday specific information check out www.travelwithkidsonline.com and go to the Castaway Island page. Have a great trip!
