FIJI for kids?

We're planning a stay in Fiji in January. Any suggestions on where's best to stay? We're a family of 4 with 2 children ages 10 & 5. It all looks so beautiful but we need somewhere that the children will enjoy & not be too bored, so a kids club would be ideal for a few hours a day. Many Thanks

Go for Mana Island. It has wonderful beaches and a great kids club. An island bure would suit you fine. Go to www.manafiji.com for more information.

Depends on your budget but there is a huge range of resorts in Fiji that offer exactly what you're looking for.

On Coral Coast: Naviti, Warwick, Hideaway, ShangriLa, Outrigger

Nadi area: any of the Denarau resorts, Sonaisali, Intercontinental

Islands: Castaway, Malolo, Mana, Treasure, Amanuca, Plantation

All comes down to budget as there can be a vast difference in the cost for these resorts. If you're staying longer than a week - highly recommend splitting your time between at least 2 different places.

Stick to the western part of Fiji because the eastern half will be bucketing rain (although it's warm rain so it won't necessarily spoil your holiday : ).

Your best bet for good weather and kids facilities is the Mamanuca Islands. Here are my recommendations in terms of budget:

Mamanuca Islands

Low: Plantation

Medium: Mana

High: Castaway, Malolo,

Luxury: Vomo

If you want to get more off the beaten track the Yasawa Islands have some fantastic resorts, however fewer facilities compared to the Mamanucas because it is less developed. There are also lots of family friendly activities to do in Denarau, however the beaches are nowhere near as nice as the islands. To mix it up a bit, you might want to stay a few nights on the mainland then go out to an island.

January is school holidays for New Zealand and Australia and a time when many people also take their annual leave from work. Fiji is a major destination of choice so my advice is find out who still has accommodation available and book ASAP.

Your kids will love it!
