When u reached Longyang station,go to the metro line 2 station on the adjacent building(walk down the escalator to ground floor walk to the adjacent metro building) .,there will b proper signs of line 2 metro only takes u less than 3 mins walk buy the ticket at the ticketing machine to People square station for 4 Rmb.Once reached the People square station change to line 1 to Huangpi nanlu(South Huangpi road station)cost 2 rmb.Exit from here yr hotel is just across the road at Huai Hai Zhong lu,at HongKong Plaza. It will b hardly 50 meters walk from the station.A prestigious place to b with all the upmarket malls along the whole road. All in from Pudong airport it will take u about 35 to 45mins to reach yr hotel.Even though u need to change twice but its fairly easy provided u can manage yr luggage easily. If not it will b quite costly n time consuming if u take taxi from Longyang to yr hotel,do it kind of defeats the whole purpose of convenience n cost saving.

You need to present your boarding card in order to get the RMB10 discount for taking the Meglev. (Normal RMB50 with boarding card you only need to pay RMB40). You also can buy the Shanghai Transport card at this Meglev ticket counter.

From Longyang Maglev station is very easy to go Metro line 2 like Benny's explanation. If you already have the Shanghai Transport card so no need to buy the ticket there. People's Part station is biggest Metro Station but clear sign/indication which metro line that you need to connect.

What is the Shanghai Transport card? How much does it cost and how much discount does it give? Is it a card that is good for all subway stations for one or more days?

上海交通卡 this is the prepaid card for the public transport including metro, bus as well as taxi. I am not very sure any discount but the deposit is RMB20, it is very convenient to use in Shanghai and recommended by the expert.

Please use the search function in the Shanghai Forum for these common questions. Just enter in the box above, "Shanghai Public Transportation Card" or look in the "Before you go" section of Shanghai, specifically, see this:
