Help with the logistics of our itinerary

We are coming to Shanghai for 5 days and I was hoping to get some help with the logistics of our itinerary. Here is a breakdown of our days…can you let me know if I have picked things relatively close to each other for on each day or if we will be spending too much time traveling all over town to each site? Am I allocating too much time to one thing or another?

Also, if I am missing any key sites or if you recommend anything else please let me know!!

Thanks!

1. Re: Help with the logistics of our itinerary

hi :

Here are suggestions from a local tour guide :

fist day :ok ( be careful of tea scammers in the bund.)

second day :

Shanghai World Financial Center / Oriental Pearl Tower ( you can go one of them, no need to go both.)

Bund Sightseeing Tunnel ( not very interesting)

The Bund (Wai Tan) which is same with Riverside Promenade (Bingjiang Da Dao)

Garden of Contentment (Yu Yuan Garden) / Yuyuan Bazaar -- good place to visit.

Day 3:Day Trip to Suzhou

• Master of the Nets Garden ( personally i prefer humble administer's garden than this garden)

• Boating on the Canal

• Shantang Old Street

• Panmen City Gate & Wall

• Tiger Hill & Leaning Pagoda

( others are good.)

Day 4:

Nanjing Road

Shanghai Museum

Tian Zi Fang

Xiangyang Park ( if it is weekend i suggest you go to people's park to see chinese match-meeting, which is how chinese parents try to find partners for their kids and try to arrange marriages) and you should visit Fuxing park also where you can see how elder people exercise in the morning.)

Shanghai Circus World ( yes, you should visit acrobatic show in Shanghai.)

Day 5:

Jade Buddha Temple

Shanghai Jiangnan Silk Museum

Day 6:

Leave

Since you have 5 days in Shanghai, i suggest you visit shanghai in 2 days, visit water town one-day and hangzhou in another day, so you can fully utilize your time in Shanghai.

enjoy your holiday in China.
