Shanghai mid Sept 2015

We are thinking of booking a Chinese tour, (with river cruise), ending with a independently arranged week or so in Shanghai in mid Sept, after the tour finishes. I have a few questions.

Is there likely to be any large amounts of fog or unduly hot weather at that time of year?

Can anyone suggest any good hotels of a 3/4 star quality in Shanghai - we are not that young, so would need something central or within easy reach of public transport?

How far is the airport and what would the price be to arrange a transfer to the airport at the end of our stay?

1, possible and possible

2. Too many; suggest to use TA to narrow down to a few, then post for opinions

3. About an hour drive, regular taxi costs about $30, private service costs 2x~4x.

The weather of mid Sept 2015 can't be sured by now, but usually it may be a little cool. The hotel all around the Nanjing Road is ok to you ,because the traffic there is very convenient that you can travell around easily. The Salvo Hotel Shanghai is 5 star , but I think actually it is 3/4star right met you need.

Have a good time in China!

According to past years' Shanghai weather history data , it is around 20-30℃ in mid September.

For the hotel advice, you an check on the forum and narrow down the options by the price range and location as well as the reviews. Popular hotel locations are in French Concession, and around People's Square/Nanjing Road.

Right...mid Sept is still warm and humid. For people from England 30C might be "hot" but we here would say that is is "cooling down" as we usually see temperatures up to 42C in July and August.
