Stuck in town, looking for things to do.

Hello,

I will be in Alajuela for the next few days, and I am looking for things to do at night. I would really just like to meet people, have a few drinks and relax.

I love this town.

Now, I know enough Spanish to get around, but not to hold a lengthy conversation, so it makes it harder to find a place. Right now, I would even settle for a place dominated by tourists(which I don't want to do), but the conversations between myself and my travel partner are becoming a bit repetitive.

Thanks guys, dolls, dames, and cats.

One of my best experiences was going down to the central market in the morning (like 7AM) and just walking around and watching everything open up. It's a cultural experience.

Alajuela has a lot of language schools for students learning spanish. Check out the schools and they usually have a lot of get togethers or trips that you might be able to join. Since they're students it's usually pretty cheap to tag along. Worst case scenario many schools hold intercambios between english and spanish students a couple nights a week- you'll be able to meet people guaranteed.
