Hanging Bridges/Nature Walk--Mistico or Sky Walk?

Hi,

We are a couple in our early 60's, looking for a recommendation as to which company to choose. We will have a car--Staying at Silencio del Campo-- and understand that early morning is the best for animal viewing, which is my wifes main focus. We're looking at 8am.

Travel time from our hotel?

Price is similar, $2 difference

Mistico-- Spend 2.5 hrs, travel 3.2 KM. 6 bridges

Sky Walk--Spend 3 hrs, travel 2.2 km, 5 bridges

Neccessary to reserve in advance for 2/11/18?

Your experience with these companies please?

Thanks

We've only done the Mistico hanging bridges; that seems to be the one that most people do. We've done it on our own and also with a guide. On our own, we saw ants; with a guide we were lucky enough to see howler monkeys, a toucan, and beautiful honeycreepers. It's an easy loop trail but a guide can teach you about the area, etc. if you're interested. Have not done Sky Walk, but we ziplined there, and I would have some concerns that all the people, machinery, noise, etc. would interfere with wildlife or the peacefulness of the rain forest.

I just wanted to laugh at your “on our own we saw ants” comment! Lol!

We do plan on taking the guided walk, our experience has shown us that whether you’re walking city streets or hiking a guide is worth it.

The trips start at 8am, I’ve read that morning is best for animal viewing. Opinions please?

Would we have time to do that, grab a quick lunch and drive to Protecto Asis by 2:00? Google says it’s a 1hr drive from Mistico to Protecto Asis. We will have a cooler and don’t mind eating on the run if we have to.

I think you will be fine to get to both Asis and Mistico.

And they were not just "ants" they were leaf cutters (smile)

Ha, yes, they were special ants! I agree a.m. is usually best for animal sightings. Good to go before it gets too hot outside. I think you have time to do both too. We loved Proyecto Asis. We got to help feed the monkeys and sloth there.
