Royal Corin or Mountain Paradise?

Hi all,

We are traveling to the area this summer and are wondering which resort you would recommend for a family with kids? Both seem to have pros and cons and it's hard to decide!

Thanks,

Jennifer

I stayed at Royal Corin, didn't see much for kids but was more of a good couples hotel. Modern feel, off a main road near town of La Fortuna, great hot spring pools (and regular pool for those who can't stand the heat), nice swim up bar, nice Lava Bar with views of volcano upstairs and nice rooms! I recommend it, but then again I don't have kids so not sure if it's the best spot for kids.

Any thoughts on Volcano Lodge and Gardens? Looks very kid-friendly, reasonably priced, and got pretty good reviews.

We stayed at Volcano Lodge last year while we were in La Fortuna and it was great. As you stated, for the price, it couldn't be beat, and the time of the year that we went (August) it was very calm around the hotel. It is not a lava view, but from the sounds of things, there hasn't been much lava lately.

Volcano Lodge GREAT choice...good prices...nice gardens...nice big rooms...nice location just about 10 minutes from La Fortuna...nice pools...

If the volcano is active...offer great lava view...but as prior post mentioned...the volcano has been kind of lazy now days!
