Tours for seniors over 70 in Guanacaste

Hello everyone,

We'll have a family get together in July and will be staying in the Playa Conchal area. We would like to take 2 seniors outside of the resort to get a feel for Costa Rica. A Palo Verde Boat Tour seems like a good one for seniors? Anything else you can recommend? Thx much in advance.

The Palo Verde boat tour is an excellent choice for seniors.

A couple of possibilities:

1. The "Nature Pass" at Hacienda Guachipelin. http://guachipelin.com/one-day-pass.html

2. Visit the town of Guatil to see artisans making authentic Chorotega pottery.

3. Head to Llnos del Cortes waterfall. About 14 miles south of Liberia -- huge waterfall with a small swimming area. You can look at some You Tube videos.

4. Santa Rosa National Park to visit La Casona. This is an old hacienda that is now a museum and figures prominently in Costa Rican history. There are several trails nearby and at least one of them is very short and flat and easy to walk. Lots of birds.

5. Have a visit to Las Pumas Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, just north of Canas. On the way there, you can stop at Rincon Corobici and arrange a float trip on the river. Then spend an hour or so at Las Pumas and return for the float trip. Lunch at the restaurant is included. www.rinconcorobici.com

6. Arrange a sunset cruise out of Playas del Coco with the SeaBird. www.seabirdsailingexcursions.com They also have a half day snorkeling or just relaxing cruise.
