Turtle nesting

We will be there the end of December. Will there be a chance to see the turtle nesting that I see everyone talking about?

I would contact Samara Info Center, they seem to always have the most up-to-date info about that.

Your best chance is at Playa Camaronal. Turtles nest there almost every night. Several tour operators offer the night time tour from Samara. We have used Carrillo Adventures in the past and had good experiences.

They also nest at Ostional, but it is a much longer beach making it harder to find them. You would also have a difficult time getting a guide at Ostional at that time of the year.

The turtles usually are around the full moon, aweek before of after is not uncommon. The full moon is December 28th.

As of today we have not heard of a large landing (Arribada) but we still have time.
