Are SCOOTERS a safe type of tranportation on main and dirt roads? (Feb.& March)

GROCERY stores are all med. to small?

General hours? Days closed?

What can be found? Meats Chicken & Prok? Cuts? Fresh or frozen? Avg. Cost per kilo?

Fish Types Fresh? Avg Cost? Sold by Kilo?

Vegetables Type Fresh? (season Feb.& March)

Chesses Types? Avg. cost per kilo?

Local food staples in general?

TO THE LOCAL FOLKS. If a friend ask you if there is somthing that you would like them to bring you, as in packaged food or snack item. What would it be?

BAKERYS? Hours?

LIQUOR stores ? Hours? Days closed? Bottle Size and Avg. cost of Rum & Vodka?

Thank you

It's easy to get around Samara with a bike and you can also ride your bike to nearby Playa Carrillo.

There are stores of various kinds - typical hours are 8am/9am to 8 or 9 pm. Some have shorter hours on Sunday. You will find fruits, vegetables, meats of all kinds and fish. Prices vary depending on season. Somewhat good selection of cheeses but you probably won't find anything like Gruyere.

On most stuff, you can figure similar prices to US except for fruits and vegetables which are cheaper.

Hi,

Getting around Samara in bike is perfect. You can go as far as Buenavista Beach and Carrillo on the bike. Anything further than that is doable but expect to ride +45 minutes. You can rent a bike for $10/day and less if you rent for more days.

Roads are generally safe although sidewalks are not common in CR so just be aware of cars.

Yes, scooters are a safe way of transportation. there is only one company in town that offers 1 scooter so if you want to book it, I suggest you do it WAY in advance.

There are small, med and large grocery stores, varying from basic supplies to organic products.

Hours are generally 7-9/10 and opened 7 days a week.

You can find all types of meats and cuts. There is a butcher on the soccer field that has great products. I don't usually do the shopping so no idea on the costs. Costa Rica is expensive so expect to pay smiliar or slightly lower than the US and Canada.

There is one fish store in Torito, about 5 minutes from Samara by car. Other than that, the fish guys usually park outside the Pali super market.

Vegetables are always fresh.

Cheese selection is limited in Samara and if you do get a really good cheese, expect to pay for it.

TO THE LOCAL FOLKS. If a friend ask you if there is somthing that you would like them to bring you, as in packaged food or snack item. What would it be? COFFEE

There are a few bakeries in town, opened 7 days a week during the high season.

There are several liquor stores in town with a variety of products and sizes.

I hope I have answered all your questions.

Have fun!
