1st Timer - BP Refugees

1st Timers to Costa Rica....had to cancel annual Destin, Florida trip due to oil spill in the gulf. family of 5, kids 18, 15 and 12...Flying into Liberia, then thinking about heading to Arenal and staying at the La Mansion Inn for 3 nights....volcano, zip linging, etc.

Then heading to Tamarindo area for beach. Considering JW Marriott, Reserva Conchal, Paradsus-playa-conchal, or the Fours Seasons.

Not knowing the area, it this a logical schedule??

Also any comments on accomodations in the Tamarindo area would be appreciated.

Sorry you have to move your plans!

La Mansion Inn is not very close to La Fortuna, Zip lines or volcano...maybe about 40 minutes away...

If you looking to have fun in tours like zip lines, canopy, rating, horses, volcano tours...maybe you better look for hotels closer to La Fortuna...

Some good options...Lost Iguana, Los Lagos, Silencio del Campo, Arenal Lodge, Magic Mountain, Arenal Paraiso, Montana de Fuego...

Great idea...nothing in Tamarindo will match Paradisus Playa Conchal...nothing!

And yes it is a logical schedule...DO IT!

It's horrible whats going on in the gulf, just breaks your heart. I agree with Roadadvisors advice 100%. I would do Lost Iguana or Silencio in Arenal and then on to Paradisus Conchal

Cheers

Paradisus Conchal is a great hotel, and so are the others in your selection. Just wondering if you've looked into a vacation rentals for accommodations. Get one in Tamarindo and your main "hotel activities" become the ones of the town and community - roomier and could save you money. Don't know how long you'd be in Tamarindo, but you can now rent them for short periods. Just an idea.
