Surfing in Avallenas

Are there places to rent boards and get lessons in Playa Avallenas?

Some surfing before lunch @ Lola's would be nice.

Agree with roadadvisor. However, there are several surf shops in the area. Here is the email address for Lola's lola@playaavellana.com - often they don't answer their phone.

In general, the Playa Negra and Avenallas are for experienced surfers. The waves are bigger, currents can be stronger, and the "take-off" zones are usually over rock beds. For a real beginner, often the instructor needs to be able to stand in the water to help and if a rouge big wave crashes nobody is happy.

Don't blame people for wanting to spend more time in Avenallas because it is so removed from civilization and has a special peace about it.
