Where should we rent a car from at the Liberia airport--and how much should be expect to pay ?
All companies have different rates and they also depend on the type of car you rent. Check with Adobe rent a car. Make sure that whatever company you use includes the daily mandatory insurance
Some other recommended agencies include Alamo, National, Toyota, Service, Solid and Wild Rider. Stay away from Economy or Thrifty or anything that is much less than the other quotes and not one of these agencies.
A great local, carbon neutral, company.
thank-you !--Do you think it is better to rent a car--if we want to see a lot of Costa Rica---or for less money we would do fine with other means of transportation? We are going for 9 days.
It kind of depends what you are willing to do.
The most economical way to travel is by public bus and then you can use taxis locally. But public bus isn't as convenient or as fast and using other forms of transportation. (You know.... you get what you pay for!)
Shared van shuttles are great and provide hotel to hotel service for about $40 per person on most trips. You would still need taxis for the local area.
Private transportation is the most convenient but the most expensive.
Renting a car is a great way to see the country and have the freedom and flexibility to come and go as you please and do a bit of exploring.
we rented with Dollar rent a car and had no issues with them, they were one of the cheaper options. I would totally rent from them again.
What ever you choose...be extra carefullabout people conatcting you by PM here at TA...lately a lot of reports of a scammers trying to get attention to a phantom travel own and run by some unknown people...please be extra carefulll...and ask for Costa Rica Secretary of Tourism certifications...and please report TA about any soliciting by PM...
