Planning a November wedding in Tamarindo, need advice please

Hi, we are planning a wedding in November and highly considering Langosta Beach Club.

Most of our guests will only be able to stay for 3/4 days. I'd like to put together an itinerary for them to best spend such a short time in Costa Rica but still be able to experience the country and a little of what it has to offer.

What would be an ideal itinerary for a short visit, counting that they will fly in and out of Liberia.

The average age is 28-35 and our parents which are in late 50s.

Appreciate any feedback and tips!

Thank you in advance.

Hey Kevanna,

Langosta is a good choice for the wedding as it is always a little less crowded than Tamarindo beach. The only real hotel worth mentioning in Langosta Beach is the Barcelo all inclusive resort. As such, any hotel in Tamarindo will be a maximum of a five to seven minute drive from Langosta Beach. Beware of the spotty afternoon rains that we get during November, though.

As for your inquiry about seeing Costa Rica in 3/4 days, you will really be cutting your trip down to the bare minimum. I'd suggest an sunset catamaran sailing tour, perhaps the day before the wedding, and perhaps a mega combo tour in Rincon de la Vieja the day after the wedding. The Rincon de la Vieja combo tour is located about two hours from Tamarindo and contains the entire rainforest/volcano experience in a tidy nutshell with zip-lining, horseback riding, hanging bridges, and hot springs. I hope this helps!

The Langosta Beach Club is a beautiful setting but very little coverage in the event of rain. If it's the end of November you'll have a better chance of sunshine. You can also check Hotel Capitan Suizo and Cala Luna for both the wedding and the accommodations.

For those guests that want to cram in an activity I too suggest the sunset catamaran cruise and one of the combo tours at Rincon. Either the Buena Vista Combo (horseback riding or optional tractor ride; zip lines; water slide; sauna; mud baths; hot springs; lunch) or the Rafting Combo with zip lines, optional rappel & rock climb; rafting or tubing; mud baths & hot springs and lunch. For those that don't want to give up a whole day the zip lines can be done separately and that's usually one activity that's on everyone's hit list.

The Rafting Combo with zip lines, optional rappel & rock climb; rafting or tubing; mud baths & hot springs and lunch recommended by Xplore is NOT rafting, is kayaking done with inflatable kayaks, and the hot springs at the property that they recommend is NOT REAL, they heat the water. The property is called Canyon Lodge.

There are other options that offer real things, like the first that they recommended , Buena Vista Lodge. There are other properties around the Rincon de la Vieja area, read around the forum.

As for weddings, Cala Luna and Capitan Suizo are great places, but if you are looking AI, maybe Tamarindo Diria, also Hilton Papagayo, but for young people the activity and night life is in Coco, 10- 15 minutes away from Hilton.

Thank you for everyone's recommendations. We have decided on Langosta Beach Club, just need to decide what can be done the day before the wedding that could be just a few hours long and not too physically intensive but still interesting..if that exists :)

Then go for a Canopy Tour or an Canopy Combo like ATV+Canopy or Horseback Ride + Canopy. Part of the group can do just canopy; other can do a combo and you'll be gone just a few hours total.
