I have just came back for Quepos.Staying 7 weeks and fishing alot. And use good boats.

There are no boats that can accommadate that many people there. The only place that you will find a boat like that is Los Suenos near Jaco. But be prepared to spend $3000 a day.

Go with 2 smaller boats and my a little derby out of it.

If you need more info ask me.

To the Captain-

Can you tell me what charters you used in Quepos we are going there in June for fishing. Also any motel suggestions?

If you are going to the Jaco area, you need to talk to David Shultz at the Golden Rod in front of Tangeri Hotel. They have a 28' Bertram for some of your party and I'm sure he can arrange to have your whole party fishing in style. His phone number is 011 (506)643-2986. He is an English speaking American and very helpful with fishing and all other adventures in the area.

Use someone local if you can. They need the money more than the Americans do!!

We stayed at Los Suenos (near Jaco) and drove to Quepos to charter the boat through Luna tours (www. lunatours.net). Much cheaper than Los Suenos. Only took approx. 1 1/2 hours from Jaco to Quepos. Had 12 sailfish hook-ups, brought 2 in. Would have probably gotten more, but the friend who went with us got seasick. Great fishing and the captain and deck hand were fantastic. I think the boat was about 36'. I would go with the other suggestion, charter 2 boats - it'll give you more room.

BiG Brick

This is the wrong time for fishing. But if you insist.

We use John from High Tec Fishing. He has 6 or 8 boats that he uses. Excellent guy to deal with.

Two BIG thumbs up for The Captain's recommendation w/ John at High Tech. With two boats to accommodate 8-10 and the proper planning, a mini derby is a great idea (think about those fish tales...) I'm here in Manuel Antonio/Quepos full time, please advise if you'd like more info or assistance w/ charter set up.
