I haven't stayed there but if you think that you might have to cancel your reservation, their policy is spelled out at the bottom of this page: https://www.costaverde.com/rates.htm
Looks like you would have to cancel more than 22 days out to get a full refund.
Thanks! I saw that as well about the cancellations . Just wanted to double check to see if anyone has had a problem .
Something does not sound right here, is it Christmas week?
No, but i think that seems to be somewhat of the standard based on my findings for this hotel as well as a few others.
It shouldn't be a problem to get 100% money back, as long as you cancel with more than 22 days in advance.
I have reservations there starting July 6th. They told me the same thing, but only charged me one night on my visa so far. It's scare tactics.
It's common practice with most mid-range and luxury hotels in CR - at least with most I have encountered. Hotels here rely on international tourists. There aren't too many people that just come here on a whim without reserving first unless they are staying at budget hotels, cabinas or hostels. If they accept your reservation, they may lose their opportunity for others to reserve it.
Most hotels in our area require full payment around 30 days out, some even require 60 days out. Cancellations are rarely allowed, and are usually only refunded if they are able to resell the nights. This is common with boutique hotel properties that can't afford last minute cancellations. If worried, invest in some cheap Trip Insurance and you won't have to worry! Enjoy!
Costa Verde or Motel 6 at the forest...they have some not very flexible policies....good only for them...stay away from them..
I just stayed at the Hotel Costa Verde a little over a week ago for 3 days. I didn't find them to be anything like a Motel 6. The staff were fantastic. The scenery was amazing. We were in CVII (the adults only section) and had a fabulous room on the 2nd floor. The room was gigantic (750 sq. ft) and the balcony was a good 6-7 feet deep and spanned the entire length of the room. It was huge! We had monkeys on our balcony every day and toucans right outside our window. The room was a "jungle view" but we had an ocean view just by turning to the left. The hotel was really great and I would highly recommend them to anyone.
