NY Times article about Osa Peninsula

Hi -- Not sure if everyone has seen this or not, but a nice little article about the Osa Peninsula and Corcovado was published in the NY Times a few days ago. One of the guides whom many of us have hired and recommended -- Dionisio "Nito" Paniagua -- is featured, as well as the Sirena Ranger Station and Bosque del Cabo.

That's how we remember our two trips to the Osa. Amazed that they didn't go for an ocean-view cabana though.

I read this article as well. It was a nice informative article but it could have gone further. No mention was made of the impact of global warming in rainforests and the fragility of this environment and the precious plant and animal life it holds. If the writer enjoyed Osa so much, we presume she would want to preserve it for the future, or at the very least, for her own child. With the wide audience of the NYT, I feel it was a lost opportunity to ignore such an important fact.

Here's another article. This one in Audubon Magazine -- and this one does spend a lot of time discussing the fragility of the ecosystem: http://goo.gl/gLcRO4

This NYT article came out while I was on the Osa and had just finished my tour with Nito. I emailed with him about it and he was very flattered and pleased at the reporter having mentioned him, something he hadn't somehow expected. He's a very humble guy!
