Payment for activities at Bosque Del Cabo

When paying for activities at Bosque, i.e. fishing, surfing, ziplines, etc., must you pay cash before each activity or are they put on a 'tab' which is paid via credit card at the end of your stay?

If cash is the case, and I am guessing it is, where does one obtain local currency?

(We are staying in San Jose the day before we fly into Puerto Jimeniz.)

In the past we have put it on a tab. We haven't done any tours other than ones on the grounds recently so you could check with Leo to see if they have changed their policies. The people at Bosque are very friendly and more than happy to answer questions.

We always pay in cash at the end of our stay because we know they prefer it. There can be a hefty charge for using a CC. Costa Rica banks charge about 6% and then your bank may charge another percentage for the currency conversion. Our bank charges 3% for that.

We don't worry about changing to local currency.

We paid for everything at the end of our stay. We used Travelers checks and had no problem. They are bit safer than cash. Each room does have a safe.

If you do pay cash, US$ work everywhere, even in San Jose. You may get change back in Colones though if you are shopping in San Jose.

Enjoy your trip. BDC is a great place.
