Hotel near nightlife?

Just reading up on Costa Rica and wondering a few things..

Is there much nightlife? Any adults only all-inclusive type places??

Hi there,

We just returned from Costa Rica and loved Montezuma--from what we experienced not a lot of nightlife at the beach hotels (though I heard Tamarindo might). Though if you want someplace fun, more hip than other places, a bit quirky--the town is known for hippies, free thinking, and a mild spring breakish atmosphere. Lots of people in their 20's, nice beaches and cool hotels. I'd check out staying at Ylang Ylang there or the one (can't remember the name) that has a cute cabina setting in the jungle overlooking Montezuma. You can do a lot from Montezuma, zip lining, horsback riding, scuba, snorkeling, etc. etc.

Good luck!

PLENTY of nightlife.

Manuel Antonio has beautiful sunsets with hotels in the hills overlooking the beach and a wildlife park next door.

popular with couples

Montezuma is a bit new age/ stoners vibe but getting more upmarket every year!

Tamarindo is a younger/surfer/spring break crowd.

lots of good restaurants and nightlife. Not what youd call 'authentic' Costa Rica but a good starting poiint, party and move on.

Mal Pais is the in place at the moment. Depeche Mode, Gisele, Red Hot Chilli Peppers have houses there. Mel Gibson was there a few months ago. Great surf beach

Puerto Viejo on the Caribbean is the party town on that coast. Caribbean food, reggae and beautiful beaches to the south.
