Chicken wagon

Does anyone know the days, hours and location of the Chicken Wagon?

How much is a taxi from ferry dock to Hilton?

How much is a rental car for a day?

thanks

1. Re: Chicken wagon

There are at least three chicken wagons in Moorea.

One just past the old Club Med site, one in Maharepa on the side of the shopping center and one used to be close to the Ferry dock right around Champion. Not sure it is still there. The one in Maharepa closes before lunch and then moves to the parking lot across from the school in Are..Taxi should be around CFP 2500.00.

Rental car for the day is about USD80.00

One of them, Ma Poulette, sets up in Maharepa M-F between 10:00-12:30 in the afternoon, and then in Cooks Bay M-F between 4:00-6:30 in the evening.

On the weekends one of them moves to the entrance of the public beach over by the Sofitel. Also remember the rollette that opens at 6PM about 200 yards to the right when you leave the Hilton. $15 USD for a big platter of chow Mein with veggies and chicken, feeds at least 3 people. Many other things you can order, lots of food for the money .......

If you have a car there are a few other roulettes open. There is one at the very end of Cooks Bay. Good and cheap. a foot long sandwich is about 3 bucks, cheese burger about 4 bucks. The egg rolls are very good. The chocolote cake will bring a smile on your face. This stand is open for lunch.

Another roulette stand is just south of the boat ramp which is just south of the Club Bali Hai. Lots of choices. Fresh fish is good, the curry with chicken and rice is was very good and priced right. This stand is open for dinner.

You were asking about rental car rates. Just like everything else in Tahiti, rental cars are pretty expensive. Expect to spend a minimum of about $60-$70 for just a few hours of rental!! And be prepared to drive a stickshift. If you want an automatic or if you want A/C, you have to pay more!
