Quick question. I am in LA and leave tomorrow for Intercontinental Moorea. Does the hotel have converters in the rooms or do I need to bring one? Thanks!
so did you find out what they have? I will be going there in Sept and would like to know if i need to bring one... thanks for any info hope you had a great time!
It never hurts to bring an adapter. You won't need a converter, as most electronics (cameras, ipods, phones, computers, e-readers) these days are set to run on a variety of voltages (exceptions would be flat irons and hair dryers)....but you will likely need an adapter....the one with the 2 round prongs, for Europe. It's very likely they do have an American style 110 outlet in the bathroom for shavers...but I personally do not like to be recharging my expensive electronics in the bathroom.
Most often the hotel front desk has an extra supply of them...but not enough for every customer...and so you never know if they have given them all out during your stay. It doesn't hurt to just bring your own. They are very small, lightweight, and cheap.
An adapter can be bought at sporting goods stores, travel stores, many dept stores, radio shack, or online. You can pick one up for around $3.....if it's any more than $5, then you are paying way too much! And you don't need the whole world wide converter/adapter kit unless you plan a whole bunch of international travel in the future.Edited: 24 July 2011, 22:06
thanks for the info and your speedy response!
Definitely bring one because most of the hotels there don't provide any in your rooms.
we stayed at 4 hotels and all of them had them, no need to bring.
Hope you had a great trip! Wc stayed at IC Moorea and they let us use free adaptors. Same with IC Le Moana. We just forgot to pack them but looks like they are prepared for this. :-)
