Restaurants on Tahaa

We will be staying at Le Tahaa private island resort and would like to eat outside of the resort. Is there a free shuttle from the resort to the island and are there any restaurants nearby to go to? Any recommendations would be helpful.

Hi Alberta Couple,

Not sure if it is too late to answer your question. Just go back from there ourselves. Yes - there is a free shuttle that runs across from the Le Taha'a to the island and it runs regularly plus they seem to be able to schedule it around guests' needs. The town it goes to is pretty basic (think petrol station, general store, church, school, not much more). We did the tour round the island and there are a couple of other villages and some have chinese and other restaurants but all pretty basic. We were recommeded to (and you can see some reviews on Tripadvisor) to Louise's a somewhat idiosyncratic seafood restaurant run by a lady out of a courtyard attached to her home. Great seafood (you get what she has and decides to serve) and a good price. It is about 5 mins drive from the boat drop off and the hotel can arrange a pickup/transfer. You can also have the meal billed back through the hotel (for a 5% surcharge).

Hope this gives you at least one option.
