Definitly get a locker and walk or get a cab into town. Its about a 25 min walk. We had dinner and saw a movie during our layover!

For short term storage like that we were able to leave the luggage with Air Raro in their luggage storage room. However, we were going the other way, having arrived on ANZ and needing to kill half a day before an Air Raro flight.
Not sure if they would oblige post arrival, but you could ask on your outbound to Aitutaki.
I'm glad they have new lockers! Still in the same area, Tipani?

The new lockers are behind the new cafe in departures...so between departures and arrivals.
