After what seems to be an enternity away - we are VERY close to booking 1 last family trip away to Rarotonga!

CANT bluddy wait - we are coming for the 1st time (this trip) in January - weve only ever been in winter b4!

and by the time Jan gets here ----it would have been a very long 2.5 years since our last magical visit!.

SO........tell me about raro in the heat!

the fruit

the sea temp

just everything!, lol I suppose even the cocktails taste better in the summer?

Hi rhad,

Welcome back - Raro just gets better!

Never say "1 last family trip away" - there's always the next one.

I haven't been in January but I would imagine you'll experience, more heat & more humidity, possibly more rain (but who knows) & a great variety of summer fruit.

The cocktails? They taste good anytime and are never dependent on the season or the weather.

Happy planning.

Kia Orana rhad,

Your presence has been missed on the forum! Welcome back.

January is very much part of our tropical summer, with higher rainfall, heat and humidity. But staying close to the beach in Vaimaanga next trip, and being on holiday too, you may not notice a few showers in between sunny skies. The cooling SE breeze will be of benefit for this location.

Sea temps are generally warm at this time of year. Lots of people go swimming, or sit in the water to cool down.

Usual summer fruit available including pawpaw, mangoes, watermelon, bananas, carambola, fresh nu.

Happy planning. Kia manuia.

Nice spot, as is the entire beach area in this locality. Any of the rental homes along Vaimaanga will provide you with an enjoyable stay.
