Can you walk to the Glacier Gardens from the cruise terminal?

Can you? Technically yes, but would I recommend it? Nope!

Via the highway, it's at least 7 miles. Note that the highway does not allow pedestrian traffic, so you'll have to use the "old highway" and a short section of bike path - this increases the walking/biking distance to nearly 10 miles... not my recommendation for a cruiser's "vacation".

Taxis can be hired by the hour, so if you've got several in your group that may be the way to go. Otherwise, there are several tour companies which offer canned "bus" tours to the gardens and back - some with other "must see" stops: Alaskan Brewery, Mendenhall Glacier, DIPAC Salmon Hatchery, etc...

Happy Alaska Travels!
