Glacier Kayaking

I was in Valdez before and went on a kayaking tour around one of the glacier and enjoyed it very much. i was wondering if there are any similar offers in Juneau and how long does it take to get from Juneau to Valdez? and which mode of transportation is cost effective. thanks

You can drive 305 miles to Anchorage and fly to Juneau. There are no roads to Juneau and the only way is to fly or take the ferry. You can take the ferry from Valdez to Whittier and transfer to the twice-monthly cross gulf ferry to Juneau. Or, you can drive out of Valdez to Haines and take the ferry to Juneau from there. You do the math on costs.

Yes. You can rent a kayak in Juneau and use it on Mendenhall Lake. See www.juneaukayak.com/mendenhalllake.html
