SIngle Malt Whiskey

Thinking I probably already know the answer to this, but is there anywhere in Dalyan that serves single malts, and what kind of prices are they?

Is it best that I get a bottle or two from Duty Free?

Oh yes. Any imported spirits will cost you 12-15TL a pop in any pub there. Maybe more for a decent whisky. (PS note correct spelling - unless its the Irish stuff you are after!)

I am ONCE again going to ask the powers that be at Manchester Airport how many litres we can take. Every time I ask they say 5 litres each. Must confess we have taken 5 litres with us (didn't drink it all there!) and never been stopped. Why do they misinform, could prove costly if they confiscate in Dalaman and I'm certainly not buying it when we get there. Would have to stick to the soda su - NOT!

Here are the amounts of duty free that can be taken in to Turkey:-

Hope this helps.

Yorkie, whatever you are told at Manchester airport, the legal limit for taking duty free alcohol into Turkey is one litre per person.

Remember, there is a difference between what you can take out of a country and what you can take into a country. At some airports, duty free staff say you can take 1000 cigarettes OUT of Turkey - yes you can, that's perfectly legal. It's not legal to take them INTO the UK though.

I have always been told I can take 1L spirits to Turkey. I've just checked Manchester Airport's website and for Turkey it states you can take;

1L spirits or strong liquor over 22%

2L fortified sparkling wine or any other alcoholic drink less than 22% volume

I'm intrigued as to why toptenturkey.com states the limit as being 5L - unless the info is out of date. I've also checked worlddutyfree.com who have the duty-free shops at Manchester and Lds/Bfd, and they state that you can take;

1L OR 2 x 750/ 700 ml spirits

Would be great if you could take 5L but it doesn't look as though you can...
