Having returned from our regular summer holiday in Dalyan, (had a fab time) we have booked the villa for next summer (some villas are already booked for our dates). It will be busy when we go as there will also be the byram celebrations taking place and Dalyan is very popular with the Turkish people from outside of Dalyan at that time.
Flights from Gatwick to Dalyan 16th July 2015 are already £300 without luggage (or extra leg room - I need this as I am not a confident air passenger and need leg room space - we tried flying without extra leg room and was squashed right up to the seat in front). This price seems extortionate considering that is the starting price and will increase between now and next summer.
I was speaking to a local resident who said that they had cancelled their time share home in Tenerife as the flights had become too expensive.
The price of the flights to Dalaman seem to be going the same way. I hope this increase each year will not decrease visitors to Dalyan, as we know, the locals depend on the tourism for their economy, also for villa owners who rent their property.
