Pacific For Less..... Legit?

hey forum

So ive bombarded a list of agencies over the past few weeks that ive found on the web for quotes for the honeymoon im planning in Moorea and Bora Bora. I saw a couple hits on the forum of people using Pacific for less and they seemed pretty happy.

im just somewhat uneasy of paying big $ for a once in a lifetime trip to an agency based out of hawaii, to a woman ill never be able to meet, all over the phone exchanging credit card, passport and soc sec #s..... feel me?

That said, i havent found an agency out there that has quoted better 'all-in' pricing.

If any of you a) have used p.for less or b) recommend any other comparable agencies it would be a huge help and take away this uneasy feeling.....

Thanks in advance.

We leave in 16 Days and we booked with Pacific For Less. I actually had to rebook my whole trip and move it from Nov to Feb. Jennifer has been great and rebooked everything down to my couples massage. They have answered all my questions and are very timely with a reply. Personally I never use travel agents but didn't see how I could book this trip with out one. I got several quotes and they were the best and it came with several perks like free couples massage and a dinner. Enjoy!!

Try to avoid PM invitation as a response to a post.... this takes away the informative nature of Trip Advisor.....

I'm in the same boat - I have a quote from PFL and am now waiting for them to book my package and invoice me.

I've read the previous threads about the incentivizing to have people post positive reviews for them. I just want to make sure they are a legitimate TA.

Yes, they are legitimate. BUT the special stuff they give you (dinners, massages, etc) is also available from ANY good Virtuoso Tahiti specialist travel agent. AND, quite often at a lower price.

So don't be wow'd by the constant reviews singing their praises. It's just that most of the rest of the agents aren't there aren't resorting to getting free advertising on Trip Advisor by offering $50 Amazon cards for favorable reviews.

Hi Patti -

Thanks for your quick response! Understood about the promotion - their quote seemed reasonable to me so that was the basis for booking through them.

I chose this travel agency, PFL and was unhappy with their service. They were great and very helpful up to the day of the trip. Payment went fine and no issues over paypal. But I was unhappy during my Bora Bora trip, contacted them about it and they didn't respond back to me and still haven't. Their promise of solving any problems once on the trip is not true.

I will be having my long St. Regis trip up on tripadvisor soon, within the next month.

I would definitely shop around agencies because they all give perks out and if you're looking at the perk private dinner on the beach at St. Regis.... oh my goodness do not count that as a perk. It wasn't private, the food was horrible and we ended up going back to our OWB and ordering room service. We couldn't wait to leave and wish we got another perk instead of that with a different travel agency.

Oh and not to mention that pretty much all of their perks except the dinner for our resort were the same as any other travel agency because if you research it, the St Regis gave those perks away to all Honeymooners, not just them. They make it seem on their website and when contacting you that they as a travel agency gives and pays for those perks but that is untrue versus other travel agencies who were upfront saying St. Regis gives you X perks while we can add this X excursion.
