First trip to Bora Bora

We are looking mid-range pricing. right now we have. Choice between the Pearl (OWB plus free upgrade) and Le Meridien (OWB facing Motu, no free upgrade)

We really want the mountain view, and snorkeling would be great, someplace nearby if not right there. We like sunsets. If we stay at Pearl, can we engage in any activities at the lagoon? Le Meridien seems to offer a lot of free activities (assuming the equipment be available) but do we really want to blocking at the motu?)

We have a lot more questions but just wanted to get this one out there at the moment.

thanks

Both of those resorts have mountain views. From what I remember, the Pearl didn't seem to have coral near the OWB. I can't remember about the Le Meridan. But u many want to consider other factors to determine what you want from a resort. We met a couple who stayed at LM and they said transport to Vaitaipe was really expensive. If you eat at the LM resort than it probably won't matter. But if you want to go to Bloody Mary's every night, if the transfers expensive that can add up.

You can't go wrong with any of those resorts as they are stunning (unless you are hugely picky and demand the best) the Pearl is more rustic in interior design.

We stayed at the Hilton and loved it. We will definitely consider the Pearl and Le Meridian for our next trip. They are all good. We chose the Hilton for the snorkeling and they had 3 restaurants. They were also only a 20 min boat transfer to Vaitaipe.

It's always a tough decision. As mentioned both resorts have a classic mountain view. Pearl with a sunrise and LM with a sunset view. There is definitely snorkeling under the OWB at the Pearl and more over to the side of the property. At the LM there is little to no snorkeling under the OWB but there is snorkeling in the inner lagoon and behind the resort. There is usually no problem using the equipment at the LM. If you are strongly considering the LM you may want to ask the cost of the next category OWB.

I hope this helps a little in your decision making process.

Thanks everyone. We've decided on the LM, because it fulfills our wish list.
