Kayaking vs. Boat trip

We have one full day to do something on Prince William Sound, and we're debating between the glacier kayak trip, and just a plain ole tour (we were looking at Stan Stephens). If we do the kayak trip, are we missing out by not seeing more of the sound? Are the boats for the kayak trips the kind that you can still see wildlife to and from the glacier? Do they stop at all?

That said, if kayaking is preferable to the boat tour, which company is the best?

We did the columbia glacier kayak trip with Pangea last June. We had a great time, and saw wildlife on the way to our drop off point--eagles, puffins, sealions, otters, and seals. We loved it so much, that we are doing a 3 day trip with them this year. Maybe if you do a kayak trip in Valdez, you can do another boat tour out of Seward or Whittier. If you check out my contributions, I have pictures from our trip on there. Good luck.
