which hotel?

Hi there

We are a newlywed couple in our late 20s / early 30s planning a trip to South Africa. We have around 2 weeks or so to be taken in Feb or early March.

Can anyone recommend some nice places to stay in plettenberg bay and how many nights to allocate? Budget wise I guess we are looking at good mid range to upper end. Really want a good location with quality room, food, etc.

If Plettenberg Bay is your base from which to explore the Garden Route, I'd stay for about 3-4 nights and do excursions from there.

If it's just one stop of many along the Garden Route, then 1-2 nights should be enough.

Why don't you have a look at the Tripadvisor reviews for Plettenberg Bay accommodation:

We're planning our honeymoon for next year as well and have booked to stay 4 nights in Plettenberg - 2 in Tsala Treetop Lodge and 2 in Hog Hollow, both look fab so might be worth a look.

We stayed in the Periwinkle lodge when we went around 3 years ago and are going again in Feb this year. Unfortunately the Periwinkle is full so we'll try the sister place called Starfish. I loved the Periwinkle as it felt like a home from home and just across the road from the beach. Try and take a drive to Natures valley while you're there, it's beautiful. Hope you have a good time!
