Humewood v. Summerstrand???

My husband and I have two nights in Port Elizabeth in early August and I just don't know whether to stay in Humewood or Summerstrand. I appreciate its not going to be beach weather, I just want to be close to restaurants, shops etc. HELP!

I have stayed at Humewood before, very nice and close to restaurants as well.

Humewood is next to Summerstrand on the beachfront, Huemwood is one end Summerstarnd the other, there are restaurant all along the beachfront, several in Dophins Leap which I think is classified as Humewood

Ginger at the Beach Hotel in Summerstrand is probably the best restaurant, plenty also in the adjacent Boardwalk complex.

It is an easy pleasant walk along the beachfront.

One of the best restaurant areas is Richmond Hill which is in the older part of the city with some lovely pavement cafes and is a 10-15 minute drive about R50 by taxi.
