Rosebank African Craft Market ( open 7 days a week) is in Rosebank, 5 minutes away from the Westcliff Hotel, which is across the road from Johannesburg Zoo.

The Westcliff Hotel offers a free shuttle service between the hotel and Rosebank.

This must be pre booked. However, you can book on the day, a few hours before you wish to leave .

If you are there on a Sunday, check out the Rosebank Rooftop Market, which has a lot of arts and crafts, as well as other 'Flea Market" stuff.

Enjoy your shopping.

PS. By the way, FYI it is Jo'BURG, not Jo'berg.

A burg is a city, a berg is a mountain

Please note that the Rosebank market is closed for renovations this month. It is supposed to reopen at the end of the month but that might be wishful thinking. There ia still a small Arfican arts and crafts section but it's nothing like it normally is.

Hello, yesterday i took clients from the Westcliff to to ArtsAfrica, they are in 62 Tyrone Ave, Parkview. They have the most fantastic selection of artefacts which include beaded work, embroidery, applique, pottery, wood carvings, lamps, keyrings, and just a huge selection priced from just a few Rands (our Currency). What is most important, is that all the goods are produced and made by rural women poverty alleviation projects and this is the outlet to sell their goods. The goods are fine quality, and my client bought some cushion covers, beautifully embroidered which had the ladies name in the corner. It is just 5 minutes from the Westcliff and i am sure the hotel will organise a shuttle.

Do you know of any arts and crafts areas in the V& A, Cape Grace, Cape Town area. We're travelling down to the Cape Peninsula area, too. Can one do any whale watcing along the way or is this not the time?

Thanks,

Bush from New Orleans
