Prince's Grant Golf Resort

Hi all.

We're looking to stay in Durban area and we've spotted a villa on The Princ'e Grant Golf Resort.

Any feedback on area and resort would be really helpful.

Thanks.

A lovely resort, I haven't actually stayed there, but upmarket properties and if your a golfer then it is paradise. You will have to drive to restaurants and other places of interest, but a lovely drive on the North Coast. (nearest beach town would be Ballito).

Thanks for the post, what's Ballito like?

The usual paranoid UK traveller...safe?

We do play golf (blokes) but the girls will enjoy pool etc..

Do these places usually offer clubs etc. we don't want to bring our sets for just one or two games?

Thanks again.

not sure about the clubs best to pop them a mail about that. Ballito is a nice coastal town with lovely beaches and some shopping. From Ballito it is only about 20 to 30 minutes to Umhlanga. Ballito and Umhlanga are built up and safe.

Yes, Princes Grant do offer clubs for hire. If there are any left handers though it may be worth checking first!

Thanks for all the info.

Looking forward to seeing the area and enjoying South African hospitality.

Can you tall me how long it will take to drive from Ballito to St Lucia? Any interesting stops along the way?

about 3 hours to St Lucia. Prawn Shack in Amaitkulu, stunning beach restaurant with a very laid back vibe, not for the hurried (how South Africans love to entertain) only open on a saturday and sunday (can drive for the day from ballito) http://www.prawnshack.co.za/, Zulu arts and craft market just before St lucia turn off on the side of freeway, easy to spot. Emdoneni cheetah and wild cat sanctuary/rehabilitation http://www.emdonenilodge.com/cheetah.htm, Shakaland http://www.shakaland.com/, boat cruises on the estuary, whale watching at Cape Vidal look out point and snorkelling/beach at Cape Vidal, Hluhluwe/Mfolozi Game Reserve. www.kimssouthafrica.blogspot.com
