Sardine run whilst at KwaZulu Natal

Hi all, Can anyone help with this query?

We are going to be in KwaZulu Natal on safari from 14 - 17 June, and are wondering if it's possible to charter a plane to take us to wherever the sardine run happens to be at that time, and hire a boat to go out and see it.

Can anyone offer any advice?

Thanks.

Hi Donna,

The Sardine run is a wonderful natural occurrence, but cannot be guaranteed in a time frame,

Things are looking good as the first indications of sardines have been spotted off the wild coast, so hold thumbs you might be lucky.

This amazing spectacle is an unforgettable experience, as it’s not just about the little silver fish, but also the dolphins, sharks, game fish, birds and whales that follow the shoals.

Dean Riley does helicopter charters, contact 084 6076948 and Aquaplanet will take you out to sea to follow the sardines on a boat, www.aquaplanet.co.za both these operators are based in Shelly Beach on the KwaZulu Natal South Coast.
