re looking for info on morningside

moving to south africa. can anyone provide us with info on morningside near durban? employer mentioned that as a possibility. we are not interested in buying a home but prefer apt or condo probably. what is morningside like? a suburb (hope not) :-) can you walk/bike around? it is a cool area or stuffy? places to hang out? who lives there? how far from the medical school/university? how far from the beach? the airport? does it go by another name as i don't see much about it on tripadvisor or elsewere. any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Morningside is a lovely suburb outside of the main city. It is 5 minutes drive from beaches, sports stadiums etc. Yes you can cycle around Morningside and walk. Because it is so close to the beaches many people cycle along the NMR to the beach and cycle the golden mile. Upper Morningside is better than Lower Morningside. Old suburb with lots of Victorian/Edwardian homes, tree lined streets, and some parts have lovely views of City and Sea. The famous Florida Road Restaurant Quarter is in Morningside, Mitchell Park, Jameson Park where people walk their dogs after work etc. The University is in Glenwood, which driving is about a 15minute drive across town, The airport is about a 20 minute drive on the freeway from Morningside. Everything is relatively close to each other in Durban and it is a great place to live because our weather is great and 2 to 3 hrs drive and you are in the most splendid areas of our Province, game parks and Drakensberg , midlands, Mountains or up and down our beautiful coastline, which makes Durban a very desirable place to live. Beach, Bush, Berg and Battlefields.
