Kruger Park - Accomodation for one night

In the beginng of january, arriving from St. Lucia

through swaziland, we have booked one night at Komatipoort. Having read about queues at the gate, not having to pay the entrance fee if you stay at a Camp inside the park and the possibility to make a small tour in the afternoon, is it preferrable to stay at the Crocodile Bridge Camp or another Camp? The next day we are going through the park exiting at the Orpen Gate.

In advance, thank you.

Crocodile Bridge camp is right at the gate, and should be fine as an alternative to staying in Komatipoort. There is no restaurant in the camp however, just a small take-away menu at the camp shop, which closes half an hour after the gate closes. Here you can order a hamburger and chips for example.

Another option and better camp with more facilities is Lower Sabie camp, but here you will find it more difficult to find availability. Also, it adds an extra hour or more on to your drive through Swaziland. Can be done, but then you need to be at Crocodile Bridge gate before 16h30pm at the latest, in order to make it to Lower Sabie in time.

For either of the two camps you will have to book in advance. You can do this on www.sanparks.org.

Have fun!

What do you think about this: Directly from St. Lucia to Komatipoort, entering the park when it opens in the morning, game viewing going to the Sabie

Camp and stay there for one night. Next day game viewing going to Orpen Gate. This way we will probably get the most out of the 2 days before going to the Game Lodge.
