Maybe put this in a different forum as Plettenburg is nowhere near Kruger.

If you can swim in England, you can swim at Plett in September. But - it will NOT be warm. That comes in Jan - Feb.

Cape Town and Plett are very different. Cape Town is basically in the Benguela Current which comes straight up the west coast from Antarctica. Atlantic Ocean

The South Coast is in the Aghulas Current which comes from India across the Indian Ocean down the East Coast, as the Mozambique Current, and along the South Coast. Indian Ocean

The currents meet somewhere off Cape Aghulas which is where officially the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet.

So agree with the others Plett is lovely for swimming in February and is bearable as early as September.
