Kruger - Moderate Priced Lodge or Self-Catering Lodge?

Hi Experts!

Looking for a recommendation for a moderately priced lodge or a self-catering lodge (with 2x daily safari drives) for a group of 6 adults - arriving March 16, 2013 for 3-4 nights. We will be arriving via car from Nelspruit.

Thank you.

Hello pumpkinhead40,

A moderately priced, private reserve that we have been very pleased with the past couple of summers is Gomo Gomo Game Lodge but it is a few hours drive north and east our of Nelspruit. See link (w/pictures of wildlife sightings) if helpful.

Are you open to staying inside Kruger at one of the Camps and doing a combination of self-drive and using the game drives the Kruger Park guides offer in the morning, afternoon and evening?

I know of many self-catering lodges but not any that also offer safari drives. The ones offering game drives tend to be all-inclusive places.

My recommendation would be to stay inside Kruger and book game drives with them. Alternatively, you could stay in a self-catering unit outside the Park and use a safari company to take you into Kruger.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Heeten, Owner, Swagat at Kruger Park Lodge
