Hello Winnie

Your itinerary looks fine just a couple of points.

Table Mountain is weather dependant, therefore I would be a bit flexible with your days here. For example if you get up on your first morning andlook out the window and see it is lovely and sunny and not windy then you should head straight to the mountain. This is what we did and just as well because the rest of our days in CT it was very cloudy and would not have been suitable for the cable car at all. One day the car was not even running due to the weather.

We used Hylton Ross for our township tour which included District 6 museum. We really enjoyed it, our guide was a local and had extensive knowledge of the history and townships. Was only a group of 4 adults. If you do a search you will find a similar question asked here recently which also has other recommendations.

We stayed in De Kelders and Knysna when we did the garden route but this depends on your interests, there are lots of different things to do on different routes. De Kelders is lovely little village where we were able to watch whales right from the comfort of our balcony overlooking the water. A great spot to relax and very close to Gansbaai to do a shark dive if you want. Knysna is also handy to lots of great attractions.

However we did not drive back to Cape Town, instead we spent a couple of days at Addo National Park then went home from Port Elizabeth/JHB which worked really well and might be something you could consider.

BTW we also did the route in September and we had excellent weather and of course as I have said it is a ideal time to see the whales.

Hi thesandmans, thanks for your advice and do so for the Table Top Mountain. We need to drive back to Cape Town as our flight is from Cape Town to Singapore.

Ok Winnie

That is good for you anyway being able to fly direct to Singapore, we have to go home via Jhb.

In that case you could consider a loop rather than doubling back the same route.

Again depends what interests you.

If you like nature and scenery, you may want to consider a town like Natures Valley for your Garden Route stop. Most people stay in or close to Knysna, because of its central location, close to all the major attractions in the Garden Route. Natures Valley is further east, other side of Plettenberg Bay. There is a stunning beach and lagoon, and some great nature walks you can do in this area. It also close to Monkeyland and Birds of Eden.

Thanks for the advice but will Nature Valley too far for the 4 days 3 nights trip?
