Where to stay... Klaserie or Timbavati or Thornybush...

Hi all,

I have asked about the elephant plain vs. kapama river lodge,

and decided to choose ep, but it was booked... quite shocking, 'cause

it was booked within 2 days.

now, I am looking for the other lodges such as gomogomo, nthambo...

Is there any other place as good as Sabi sand area?

we are looking for good lodge that are within R2900 per night per person?

we will be staying on June 19-20 for honeymoon.

my first priority is "good safari" next is "good food and accomodation."

any advice would be helpful.

thank you.

A good option in that price range would be Simbavati River Lodge in the Timbavati.

Hi mocofuu,

EP is very popular, and normally quite difficult to be assured of availability unless you book far in advance.

In the Sabi Sands you can try Arathusa or Cheetah Plains which are both within or close to your budget on their low season rates. Tanya mentioned Simbavati River Lodge in the Timbavati which is a good option. Gomo Gomo, as well as Nthambo are both options to consider if you can get in, but I still think the Sabi Sands is the best option for a good overall safari experience, availability allowing.

Good luck. I hope you find something.

Regards.

For a little more.. there is Notten's.. www.nottens.com - a big step up in many ways. But I also like Arathusa.. even Nkorho in the north of Sabi Sand.

Tanya, thank you for the comment. I've checked Simbvati River Lodge, but they did not have the room available for two nights.

I'm still going back and forth between Sabisand and Timbavati/Klaserie.

However, I figured I should choose from the lodge that has vacancy on the aiming date, so

I sent enquiry to several lodges including gomogomo, Nkorho, Nthambo, Umlani...

many thanks for the advice.
