Hazyview to Polokwane

We will be travelling from Hazyview to Polokwane in June to catch the football match between New Zealand and Parguay the next day. Any advice on the route and what to see?

Quite a scenic drive no matter how you go

You can get in the panorama route which is a bit out of the way

The "direct" rout would be Hazyview to graskop up the escarpment (Kowyn's Pass) on the 535/3, (at mogodi lodge you can go down to the bottom of beautiful Graskop Falls) you can take R532 around the panorama route to the Blyde River Canyon etc or procede to Pilgrim Rest R533 (which has a cute little old time village) past crystal Springs, Ohrigstad Dam Nature Reserve, north on R36 to Ohrigstad, R555 to Burgersfort and R37 straight to polokwane past Bewarrkloof

At least 4 Hours of driving

You can also go north thru Bushbuckridge on R40/r36 past Makutsi thru tzaneen and across to Polokwane

Thank you, Dave, for the comprehensive reply. You make the "long" route sound very attractive. We are really getting excited about our trip and looking forward to visiting Hazyview

Thank you, Klaus. This route seems shorter than the scenic drive and will be the one we take if we are time constrained.
