Electric current

I will be traveling to the Bay Gardens Beach Resort this week. Is the electric power like in the US (110) or do I need to bring a power converter? Thank you.

No - it is 220V and you need a converter for things like hair dryers, electric toothbrushes. Say what? Yep, one of my clients toasted her toothbrush a few months back. Almost every charger will accept 110V or 220V, which means you can get by with an adapter. Which looks like this: http://www.110220volts.com/UNIV-10L.html

You can buy one for maybe $10 at the Johannesburg airport if you have some time there. Or get it in St. Lucia. (You need it anyway, if you intend to use a converter)

I think this may be intended for St Lucia in the Carribbean?

Well.. except for the part about the adapter... everything else I told her was right!! I was at that St. Lucia years ago, and I believe she may need the UK adapter there,

I dug around a bit and found this site that may be useful to regular repliers to questions such as this. It even allows updates and corrections to be notified to them so should be reasonably up-to-date.

You are right. I meant this for St. Lucia in the Caribbean. I just chose "St. Lucia" and after I posted, I found out it was for Africa! Thank you anyway.
