Linefish

Can anyone please tell me what kind of fish is linefish? Have seen it on lots of menus - is it like salmon or plaice?

It is not a type of fish, it is fish caught on a line. Catch of the day!

You need to ask what type it is.

It will often be kabeljou (kob) which is lovely.

As the previous posters have stated, Linefish is fish which has been caught using a line, as opposed to trawling, or some other method.

These are usually pelagic fish, and can be one of a number of species.

Most are very good to eat!
