Camps Bay Accomodation

We are going to Cape Town in April 2009 and plan on staying three nights in Camps Bay. We won't be hiring a car until we leave Cape Town so want a guest house or apartment that is either on the beach or very close by so we can walk to the beach, restaurants & shops day and night.

We did want to stay in 51 on Camps Bay but that is unavailable - any suggestions for any others?

I can highly recommend The Place On The Bay, situated on Victoria Road. Walk out of the gate, cross the road and you are on the beach. many restaurants and shops within a very short walk.

We stayed at Atlantic View in Camps Bay: atlanticviewcapetown.com/villa/at_villa.html Very luxurious, with stunning views of the Atlantic ocean to the front and the Twelve Apostles Mountains to the rear. Perfect hospitality and worth every penny. Great infinity pool as well. Not sure about safetly walking around at night, though - we got a taxi to go out in the evening eg to Blues Restaurant (5 minutes by taxi).
